Haha nice. Got my 10K for Ink on third request today.
ETA: You like the ANA redemption chart? I thought it was too overpriced. What are you looking at specifically?
Make sue you are looking at the current redemption chart

Air Brussels is pretty good though. 36k for NYC to Brussels in J

AA old redemption values are even a solid option to have in your back pocket.

Alright, I am going to Bahrain next summer to visit my brother. My travel dates are flexible and I would like the trip to be 4-6 days preferably flying back in on a Saturday so I can recoup a day before heading back to work. I live in Birmingham, but do not mind flying in/out of Montgomery or Atlanta.
Where/when do I need start looking. I have 65k UR points as of next month.

Yeah for sure. Any idea what kind of YQ on Brussels Airlines? If reasonable, makes for a ~25.5K MR RT from NYC-BRU in J!!
There's gotta be a catch somewhere. Even 36K RT on J NYC-BRU is nuts. Never see anyone talk about this.

I would suggest, if possible and if you don't mind coach, fly on a paid revenue ticket. Flights to ME in coach are so cheap (sub $700 a lot of times). Makes terrible redemption value. 65K UR might be too little to fly Business.
If you are sure you are going to go and have a date range in mind - it is best to book awards as far out as possible. Which is 331-365 days in advance depending on the airline you are flying and the airline you are booking through.
However, if you are interested, this could be a great op to experience the Etihad Apartments! You will need AmEx MR though. Lots of them.

I definitely do not want to fly coach. I have flown to Johannesburg a dozen times and I told myself that I would never fly across the ocean again in coach.

Hmm. Unfortunately, there is no way to do this in Business RT with just 65K UR. You can do one way in Singapore Business and back home on a paid coach ticket.

What program allows use of the old aa redemption values?

What are the boards thoughts on the citi prestige? I fly American a lot and I thought I read that you could use the $250 of airline incidentals on drinks/food on the plane. With a $450 sign up I was not sure how it compared to Amex plat but I never really felt delta and already have platinum status at Starwood so don't really see much benefit.

Citi Prestige is a favorite. Unlike AmEx Plat, the $250 credit can be used towards anything, including airfare. Plat is incidentals only.

How does that work? Do you just book a flight with the card then flag it for reimbursement?
And also the fourth night free has to be booked in their marketplace right? How many hotels are in their marketplace and are they only high end?

No. Its all automatic. The first $250 in airline charges automatically get reimbursement.

Yes the process is very streamlined now. You call your concierge and tell them where you're going, dates, and budget. They send you recs within the day and you can choose whatever fits your needs. Also, if you know exactly which hotel you want to stay at - thats fine too. Just call them and tell them and they will book it for you right away.
If you can find it on Expedia/Kayak etc and it is not a "villa" (ie not a hotel but a room in a complex) they can book it for you. I use this very frequently and love it. They can always find the lowest price that you can book at (except member only rates).
If you stay at a hotel 4 nights in a row even 2 times a year, this card is a no-brainer. If you do it often and work reimburses you...

With this being so far out I have time to earn more points and I am not opposed to paying cash the difference if that is possible.

I'm assuming this doesn't work if you have to book through your company's portal? Either way I think the admirals club for effectively $200 (as I will always have at least $250 in flights) is worth it.
Thanks for all the help!

Simplest and cheapest would be 104K RT on Turkish Business using ANA miles. (Amex) Very good availability but ~$490 in Fuel Surcharges

No. You have to call them to book. Also - it is not Admirals Club Membership just access. So you can only access those lounges when flying AA

If you are an IHG member, Hilton or whatever and you book through the concierge for the free nite I assume you can't earn any loyalty points with the hotel program for the whole stay?

Ok thanks for clearing that up.
