This is all soo complex to me but I need to get on this crazy ride yall are on.
Me and my wife are debit card only users. I know we are missing out on so many benefits but we both have no idea where to start.
I enjoy reading this thread as so many of you are highly informed on this topic.
I wish one of Yall would post a guide for beginners on how to get started with all of this.
Also a question about these multiple card combos...
Say you have $6k a month in expenditures and yall seem to carry 6 different cards on yall. How are you dividing these purchases on the cards and building these big time points?
Yall must spend $30k a month..

You can have 10 different cards and only use 1 if you want. You don't have to put much if anything on every card you own.

Now I'm even more confused

It's mostly about the signup bonus. Some of us are creative and some of us are fortunate to have business expenses to put on cards.

Got a 40k Korean Air sign up bonus Offer.
15k at first purchase and 25k after 3k in 120 days. So easy to hit.
Hawaii is 50k so it's tempting to bank these for future use. US Bank issues so that shoukd be easy as I have nothing with them.
What yall think. I'm googling their usual offer.
Eta: looks like 15k is the usual

That is definitely a good offer. I would jump on it if didn't have so many recent apps.
By the way, I successfully got the 80,000 point ihg offer for both my wife and myself by sending chase a message. We initially applied under the 70,000 point offer.
By the way, where do you guys normally find $500 visa that accept cc as payment?

Ya I'm thinking about it. They have me intrigued. I'll think about it for sure. I think the usual hangup was the signup bonus was a waste of time, but this is different. I'll have to look for the fee

Skypass Visa Signature
Looks like it's $80.
Here's my problem with USbank that I learned with my wife's Club Carlson card, I signed her up for the Visa Signature card and they actually sent her the regular Visa card. About 20k points less on a signup bonus. They choose your card for you. She has a >750 score and plenty of income. That aggravated me. Came with a $1k credit limit and I had to spend $1,500 to get the 65k point signup bonus. Couldn't buy more than 1 $500 GC at a time. Dumb.
This Skypass Visa Signature has a regular card too that comes with a 5k point bonus if you're not approved for the signature.
Am I reading the award chart correctly? 45k RT US to Hawaii in Biz? Looks like only major hubs can be used for routing? Might require Avios positioning to DFW.

Also, for those wondering, the USAirways card is still available till the 17 on this link I think.
LINK
My wife did not get approved for her "pending" application. Good news is that they didn't even pull her credit. She was declined for "already utilizing the product". So strange considering we both have it and she applied only a couple weeks after me.

Will that app really be active til then?
I ask because it was posted on a blog they won't be up that long (taken down tomorrow) but you could start an app, not complete it, and then have an email sent to you to complete it later, thereby extending the deadline.
I couldn't figure out how to do that and I really need to have it extended to the 17th at the least, since that's the day I close.
I'll be very busy tomorrow so I'd like to figure this out

Where do you normally buy your $500 gift cards?

I believe that is what I read in the email, but I can't find anything to verify that.
quote:That would be nice . The nice thing about applying is the only downside is no approval. No credit pull if they deny you for already having card.
