A lot of mechanics will say that synthetic oil is just a waste of money and that unless your car's engine is specifically designed as a race car's engine, that it is useless. Mechanics argue that when your car gets up in mileage, you'd want a thicker oil (regular 5w30) than a thinner, synthetic oil. What do y'all think?

he's and idiot who wants you to come and get your oil changed more often to make more money

This!!!!

I've been using Amsoil for about 8 yrs; I change my oil ONCE a year and filter every 7,500 miles AND I get a better product.

When I was considering changing from regular to synthetic I did a lot of research and finally had it explained to me that made sense.

Molecules in regular oil are like a handful of change; quarters, dimes, pennies, etc. Synthetic oil is perfect so every molecule is like a dime or a quarter or penny, etc. Make sense?
