He sure is. Maybe Hunter P. is confused?
Sounds like he just took the names floated around by sites like this one and didnt do much research.
I mean, all he said was that he had the most interesting resume

Isn't Mike Vrabel the d-line coach at Ohio State under Urban Meyer. He retired and went straight to Columbus.
And their defense is terrible.

That's because of Vrabel?

All the people screaming Ed O are crazy. Every off season we have a player make the news in a negative way. So i ask why would we bring in trouble from the outside? Yes i know he recruits well , but LSU doesnt need dirty coaches.

Its doesnt bode well for the prospect of bringing in an unproven coach because of his name and connection to the university

Searels is considered the frontrunner at Florida. But the school is still looking around and hasn't came to a conclusion yet. So there is some time left, but not much

Still think itll be an NFL guy (one with actual coaching experience) which wouldn't be searels

You are giving college position coaches too much credit. Although I agree with you, just because you are an alum doesn't give you a right to coach.
To claim they wouldn't be better than your average college position coach with a resume, is where I disagree.

im not the one to bring him up. someone brought up him as an example of a Faneca situation happenings and I just pointed out that that's not exactly been a slam dunk hire so far like some claim the Faneca hire would be

LSU has better options on the table than average
ones with experience in coaching and recruiting

Nice idea, but he has no coaching experience.

I gotcha. I would prefer to have an Oline coach with NFL coaching experience as well.

By this board's logic that doesn't matter.
1. Did he play at LSU? Yes
2. Was he any good? Yes
Hire him

There is nothing wrong with that logic. As long as the other candidate doesn't have NFL coaching experience.

What about any coaching experience?
Posted on 1/8/14 at 6:08 pm to oreeg
A player who plays In NFL for 10 years or more, knows more about that position than a college position coach with no nfl coaching experience.
Ex
If the TE position is available at LSU. I would hire retired Tony Gonzalez ( with no coaching ex ) before this Jalluke dude. Even if jalluke coached college TE's for 15 years.

Why is Searels even being mentioned in this thread? Does anyone seriously think either he or Miles want to coach beside each other? Did some of you forget why he left in the first place to take a lateral job?
I find it hard to believe they're seriously looking at him. He's a good coach I just don't think he wants to come back here with Miles as coach. Meh.
