Anyone In here thinks that an 8 time All Pro does not know proper offensive line play is just an idiot. Guy would be a slam dunk of a hire for LSU.
theres more to being a coach than knowing how to play the position. a lot more

You have to build your resume before you're just handed a coaching position at a premier program. I don't care how good you were in college and nfl.
Coaching is much different than playing.

Mawae has already come out and said that he's not interested in coaching right now. He wants to spend time with his family. I don't know how many times this needs to be repeated.

By your logic, we should fire Johnny Jones and hire Michael Jordan, fire Mainieri and hire Willie Mays, fire Miles and hire Joe Montana... Works for me!

Why aren't we thinking about ED O! ?
Because he's a DL coach.

Wrong. Not head coach. But I would let MJ coach shooting guards. I would let Willie Mays coach my outfield any day of the week.

Yeah, it always makes total sense to hire a slimy Defensive line coach as an offensive line coach.

Don't know if this name has been mentioned:

Of the three names mentioned most for the LSU OL job, I think Stacy Searels has the most intriguing track-record (Saban, UGA, Texas)

Maybe help coach. But not THE coach.

Isnt Searels the new Florida OL coach?

He sure is. Maybe Hunter P. is confused?

Isn't Mike Vrabel the d-line coach at Ohio State under Urban Meyer. He retired and went straight to Columbus.

I thought I read Searles was a big recruiter but not so much a good coach.

I think they should go after Charlie Strong...I hear he would make a great coordinator.

Saban can come in and be the OL coach right?
