Early Enroll Families Sacrifice-Thank You

Brandon Harris said this morning on the Tim Fletcher show that Louisiana policy does not allow early high school graduates to return to their high school for the main graduation ceremony and walk across the stage to receive their diploma. That is just one of those LIFE moments that parents dream about that they have to give up. I did not realize that was something that an EE and their family sacrificed and I for one want to say thank you to any EE family for doing that. Hopefully other moments as a LSU Tiger can make up for it.
Thank you
Thank you

that must have changed since I graduated. I graduated mid year and came back and walked in May with my classmates. (1987... yes, old fart)

If so, kind of a stupid rule. What difference does it make?

That is interesting to note. Living in Texas, my understanding is that in this state, early grads can return for the main graduation ceremony in May.
But that is a sacrifice LA players who are EE recruits have to make that many in other states do not.

That sucks for the graduates, but it is something to think about. We want Louisiana players to stay at home and play for LSU, but at the same time, the LA early grads have a bad taste for the state of Louisiana preventing them from the graduation ceremony.
This is not a huge thing that can't be fixed. This needs to be brought to the attention of some legislators. Or have a recruit who goes out of state to mention his disdain for that policy.

I guess I should spell out when I was allowed to do this in 1987, I did not start college right away. I worked full-time in the spring to save up money. So, maybe I didn't actually get my diploma and officially matriculate until May. I just had no spring classes. Details sketchy....

I know that, but when the state of Louisiana denies you to graduate with your class in May, then there's a chance that a student/recruit may just be a little pi$$ed at the state of Louisiana for that policy.
That just needs to be changed - for athletes and non-athletes as well. Why punish someone who finished his HS requirements EARLY?? For crying out loud, these kids should be specially recognized!

Terrible policy, makes no sense at all. Call your state reps!

Hooray Louisiana politics!

There is no policy set forth by the state regarding who walks in graduation ceremonies. This would be a local/parish decision.

That's a shameful policy.

The most important thing is that mom and dad will watch him walk across the stage at the LSU graduation ceremony.

Or across the stage to take a pic with the nfl commish.
