I used to run a fence company in college. I bought several brands over the course of a few years - rigid, porter cable, mikita, etc. I now only have dewalt. Nothing but yellow and have renovated multiple houses with my dewalts tools.
However, I heard Home Depot bought dewalt. Don't know about the newer stuff.

Don't think so. Lowes still has DeWalt. Black and Decker bought them out a long time ago.

I really don't think you can go wrong with any of the major brands. Heck, I had a cheap $20 cordless from Harbor Freight last me 2 years.
