Are kidding me? It's clear that Davis is the face of the franchise and should be the #1 option. It really shows how great he is considering the production he has.
No one believes that huh? Tell that to all the people crying tank or season's over after Anderson news went official. This team has a serious case of identity issue.

I think you're confused..
People keep saying this team has identity issues when EVERYONE KNOWS that Davis is the #1. Sorry he's not the kind of big man that handles the ball in half court sets all of the time. He's not that kind of player. But he makes plays all over the court and everyone recognizes that, and that's the best part about this team.

Pretty sure a lot of that was jokes, which I played along.

By the way..you're heavily contradicting yourself.
Then..

It all comes back to identity and I blame Williams for that. Are we the Ryan Anderson's Pelicans or the Tyreke Evans Pelicans? Who are we truly building around? Where is Davis, Holiday, and Gordon in all of this? Complimentary pieces or pieces we truly build around?

Maybe I should spell this out for you. Every indication off the court leads you to believe that Davis is the guy but it does not appear to be the case on the court. My entire posts revolved around on the court identity. So no, I didn't contradicted myself.
So yea, let's jus focus on trivial BS and avoid the actual points while we're at it. /sarcasm.

I reposted that quote because I recognized what you were saying. Indications on the court are that Davis is making the most plays on this team in his style of play.

Don't be a douche. I've responded to pretty much ALL parts of your posts.

That's where you're wrong. You confuse versatility with limitation.

How?
How would you use Davis then?

Allow him to work the post a lot more consistently. He needs more touches down low in isolation. He needs it for growth and development.

Tank City???? IDAF about this season. We are two to three years out.

And he should get that chance now that Anderson is hurt. But it's not his strong suit and never will be.

Look at his play with Kentucky and here in NOLA. He's never been the main option as a post up big man.
Of course, the future remains to be seen but he's an athletic big and makes his plays using his talents.

What's up with all of the injuries this year??
Posted on 1/7/14 at 3:54 pm to HandGrenade
I want to see him playing more 4 with Anderson out. I really think he should be playing more outside-in and developing there. Over time he'll develop some low post deftness (it took Garnett quite a while), but he is not a low post player right now. I'd like to see him closer to the 25 ppg range even if it involves forcing some touches.

He was 6'3" three years ago. Give him a little time. He'll be a monster in the post one day. He's way too athletic and good with the ball not to develop some amazing post moves and counters.

Most of them have been contact injuries. Tyreke stepped on a couple of feet, which is tough on ankles. Davis smacked his hand on the rim. Anderson took an awkward shot in his back. Gordon took a really nasty fall (and it could have been a much worse injury given the fall).
I just think it's a lot of bad luck right now. Guys are going hard like you want them to and it's kind of biting back.

He was 6'4" by the end of his sophomore year. He was 6'8" by the end of his junior year. Your math be a little off.
