That's more on the fans than Frank. When you look at the current commits, he's brought in a pretty good haul so far.

Might have been referring to Marquise Hill.
this proves to me that not many of you know jack shite about LSU football beyond 2007.

why the frick would anyone be speaking about Nick Saban's recruiting efforts in regards to Jeremy Hill to LSU?

I am sure Frank and Les realize this, but building relationships with High School coaches is the key...Target Pipeline schools, St. Aug, John Curtis, Karr, etc...Non LSU legacy kids are not as connected to LSU as we would hope...Most kids are first or second generation college kids to begin with...Kids look up and trust their High School coaches...That's where the holes are in our fences...
This is one of the primary reasons Frank Broyles of Baylor is a top candidate for the UT job...he has High School relationships that will solidify UT's talent pool

I agree here. I think a lot of the toxicity at Karr has to do with Ellis and his family. LSU spurned both Senior and Junior. Senior ended up at Tulane. He was probably one of their most famous football alumns along with Pat Surtain until recently. Neither went to LSU.

He was a freaking HS coach like 8 years ago. Of course he has relationships there.

You may want to actually do research first.
2012
2011
LSU pulled the top 4 players out of NOLA
2010
There were no good recruits in NOLA
I did not feel like going back any further.

Young probably heads to TAMU. Dupre seems to be likely a tiger but who knows with Curtis kids these days. (bait for JC apologists)

The OP is not mistaken. I agree with the point he's trying to make which is that the inner city Nola kids don't come up dreaming of playing for LSU, nor is there any loyalty in their family to LSU unless their parents attended LSU (e.g. Beckham). Most of these kids grow up dreaming of playing for "flashy" schools like Miami, Fla. State, USC, etc. because they see those schools as the "cool place to be". Coincidentally, these schools are also the most pervasive in hip hop culture (I'm not being racist it's just a part of the demographic). The kids also see these schools as an oasis long away from their underprivileged upbringing in Nola. Many just want to GTFO of Nola and LSU's proximity isn't far enough away to satisfy that want. That, coupled with the non-established loyalty to LSU, leads them to follow these "faux" dreams out of state.
Frank Wilson is an invaluable member of our staff at this time. But unfortunately even he can't overcome the above for every single kid we want from Nola.

Thought he was referring to RB Hill and not DE Hill.
Karr is not New Orleans means there are many other schools in New Orleans (and metro area) than just Karr.

Now just piss off. M. Hill was a 2000 recruit. That is almost ancient history in college football terms.
You might as well dig into the 80s and 90s.
