Are we doomed to simple offenses as long as Les is around?

Was Cameron hired to lend legitimacy to an approach that he had no desire to abandon?
How did the LSU offense change this past season except to get even simpler? Sure, we passed the ball far better but we finally had a far better passer, and relying on that guy's arm DECREASED offensive creativity.
Where were the screens? Where were the draws? Where was the misdirection? Where was the wisdom of keeping your opponent guessing? I've seen many high schools run more complicated offenses.
Miles still has a 1960's Michigan mindset. He relies on overwhelming an opponent by superior manpower... which is all well and good until he runs into an opponent with equal manpower.
Yesterday was particularly discouraging. Despite three weeks to prepare there was nothing in the playbook that took advantage of a more mobile quarterback... no bootlegs, no rollouts, no qb draws, no options... nothing that would infuse Jennings with a bit of adrenalin or confidence when things weren't going well. Cameron shat the bed.
Yes, we won. We had superior manpower. Thank you, Jeremy Hill.

Good point. LSU should abandon what wins for them in order to make a dog dresser happy.

The first TD was an option play
I have no problem with the offense. Yesterday looked pretty vanilla but Jennings is a true freshman. They're trying to teach him to be a pass first guy and that's the way it should be. No reason to make him rely on his legs. That should be option #2 for QBs.

there where a few questionable calls yesterday sure but we had to run the ball a lot the staff had no confidence in jennings.
Jennings will improve cam is a good coach.

This thread is nothing but a reach for criticism and the same recycled bleeding pussy nonsense spewed from the awful portion of the fan base.

Are you this much of a dumbass or is this just an act?

The one and only... and he looked confident running it.

Exactly. It's funny because he is trying so hard to sound like he has a clue.

I've been watching football for almost 60 years. It's not rocket science.

If your OP is what you came to after watching this season, apparently it is for you.

I think it might be just for the goal line package
I don't want Jennings running a lot of designed run plays in between the 20s. That's how you get your QB hurt.

I love how people keep lying to themselves and defending Les. The offense is a joke. Lsu is the most boring brand of football I have ever seen. Anybody, can go in there and hand the football off like Jennings did. If Rivers is worse than him and Id really hate to see it. As far as offensive coordinator goes, quit blaming him we have seen the same offense since les has been here.

You made some very good points, but the offense was much better with an actual pocket passer. Miles reverts back to the offense from yesterday when he finds mobile QBs.
Anthony Jennings is a Tiger; so I support him and hope that Cam can right the ship for him. BUT he is not an accurate passer and his arm strength is suspect. I don't think that he will be a god like some on here touted (like they do every time a mobile QB is recruited.)
This offense needs an accurate pocket passer who can push the ball down field. Mett showed what this offense CAN BE with a QB with arm talent.

So, it's your contention that LSU runs a complex offense with oodles of creativity?

Oh look another blind person. What LSU games did you watch last season to get to your conclusion?
