Question for the Iowa fans. What is the general opinion on KF? Not knocking the guy but based on success he has the be the most overpaid coach in college athletics. Thoughts?

It is what it is, I'm not going to get into the never ending topic. I'm just glad we are not Purdue, Illinois, NW, or Indiana. Just wish recruiting was better.

Opinions are mixed. He's a class individual. Parents who are involved and want their kid to be under a fine coach like Ferentz. He gets the most from average players. That said his program has run in cycles. 3 up years, 3 down years. We think this is the beginning of Ferentz 3.0. Iowa never seems to get those great WRs.

I'm not a big hater of the guy. Others will give a different point of view. One thing that drives me nuts is that he does not seem to insist on having good offenses. Iowa's D is usually pretty good, but they just don't ever seem to have a potent offense. Last one was 2002. 2 cents.

He replaced his staff after 2011. The new staff seems to be recruiting better.

Opinions on KF are currently very polarized.

One camp says hes over paid for his performance on the field. I think these are usually the younger fans. They don't like the cyclic nature of the teams success and expect great seasons every year. They are also in a constant state of confusion over why Iowa isn't reeling in 5* athletes and winning NC's.

Another believes that the football program is not defined purely by its win-loss record. This is where Kirk scores a lot of points since he runs a very clean program. They tolerate the cyclic nature of his success, and believe that Iowa cannot compete with the big boys on the recruiting trails. Therefore they are happy with the developmental style of program he runs. These fans are terrified of going back to the "dark ages" of Iowa football. See 1962-1980.
