Y'all played well and hung tough. If you have a little bit more recruiting quality your team be great.

Question for the Iowa fans. What is the general opinion on KF? Not knocking the guy but based on success he has the be the most overpaid coach in college athletics. Thoughts?

Opinions on KF are currently very polarized.

One camp says hes over paid for his performance on the field. I think these are usually the younger fans. They don't like the cyclic nature of the teams success and expect great seasons every year. They are also in a constant state of confusion over why Iowa isn't reeling in 5* athletes and winning NC's.

Another believes that the football program is not defined purely by its win-loss record. This is where Kirk scores a lot of points since he runs a very clean program. They tolerate the cyclic nature of his success, and believe that Iowa cannot compete with the big boys on the recruiting trails. Therefore they are happy with the developmental style of program he runs. These fans are terrified of going back to the "dark ages" of Iowa football. See 1962-1980.

He's had success upon success. He cracks me up too. There are always fans who scream because their team does not win an NC every year. Face it Bama's success is really unusual in the overall history of CFB. The fact that Les has not matched saban should not take away from all that he has accomplished. I've seen a lot of coaches come and go from LSU over the years. Les is the real thing. He recruits great players AT ALL positions. The teams play hard nosed football. What else would anyone want?

Insightful comments. They will not be well received by a majority of the posters on this board.
