Not sure what episode they're up to right now, but how many episodes did she watch before she started saying, "Please let Lori die soon!"?

Lori sucks so much that she even gave herself a reason you suck speech. "I know I've been a shitty wife and I am not winning any mother of the year awards".

i won't say the show got "terrible", but last season was awfully close to it IMO. for that season, there was maybe a decent movie's worth of storyline to work with, but it was thinned out & padded into 13 (or whatever) episodes. needless to say, many times the pacing was not unlike a semi trying to go uphill with several flat tires. this season bounced back nicely by comparison, although the governor stand-alone eps could've been trimmed down....

I'm sure we'll start,to notice this trend as the marathon continues. Right now, it's still quite intense but I can definitely see the potential for waning.

The zombies haze gotten so much slower. The marathon makes it noticeable. Shoot...they were responding to their surroundings and running through the woods in the first few series.
Now they walk mostly aimlessly like incapacitated blind zombies

Decomposition is a bitch.

i started watching when they took over the prison going forward and haven't watched the first few seasons until this marathon. I definitely noticed the walkers being way more athletic back in the day. In season one, one of them scaled a fence going after Glenn and a couple were running at different points instead of the just "don't waste a bullet if they are behind you, they are so slow" stance that goes on now.

exactly, most of the criticism is from preconceived notions. They are getting slower because they are rotting.

While we are having this conversation, I want to say to the people that are like

"Well couldn't you just wait until the decomposed to nothing"

Decomposition occurs but apparently the virus slows down the progression of decomposition. So no, this theory would not work

It just seems most of the Walking Dead hate comes from Breaking Bad hipsters (who have finally shut up about the Wire), those with preconceived notions/prejudices about the genre, and those who don't realize it is an adapted graphic novel.

Why would someone like Merle be so slow if he decomposed for 45 minutes?

(Just rewatched the scene) he seems to be walking normallly. Plus walkers ignore you when they've just ate. They are all reaction/instinct.

Well first I don't remember seeing any walkers running. Second the virus affects the brain so moving around is definitely going to be affected.

Walkers did run in season 1. They also used tools, drank water, and check their cell phone. On those last two, you can see it in the background of the Blu Ray's when Rick is in Atlanta. One of the reason's Darabont left was disagreements with Kirkman about Walker Intelligence. Apparently Darabont wanted to work in a "I am Legend" they are actually sentient angle.

I'm so glad Andrea is dead after catching up. She's worse than Lori.

He sucks anyways. The only thing he has done well is Steven King adaptions and I find both VERY overrated. I also think he's an a-hole because now he suing AMC because they haven't paid him for the last two seasons. Sorry pal but you almost ruined a good show, and if you would have had your way the show would have been canceled after season 2 and alienated the fans of the comics. I hope AMC sticks a boot up his arse in court.

Bro, you white knight this show way too much and devolve any criticism of it into 'Breaking Bad hipsters.' But just because the source material is written on a pedestrian/formulaic level does't mean the show has to follow suit.

it does when Robert Kirkman (the comic book writer) is the only person who gets final say in what is done in the TV Show

Yep...originally, they could walk, climb, jump and even used some tools effectively. After reading through the conversation, this differentiation appears to be due to a conscious production/direction decision (Kirkland/Durabont) vs. a decomposition, virus, or hunger explanation.

Cool to see why
