So Iowa landed in Tampa today?

They seriously showed up to a non BCS bowl 8 days early? Their super bowl?

If I lived in Iowa in Dec i would leave for Tampa at the earliest opportunity as well. Just makes sense.

My SIL is orignally from Iowa and almost had a heart attack the first Christmas she came down here and we greeted her in shorts since it was about 75 that day.
On the other hand, my brother was stuck in his MILs house for four days the first time he went up there since the snow drifts were piled about 4 feet deep. They could not even walk a few hundred yards to his wife's grandmother's house.

Check the OB bowl site, there are a number of activites that both teams will participate in. So yes, and LSU will show up within a day or as well.

BCS game or not, It's part of their bowl prep plan to get to the site a few days early so the players can get acclimated to the warmer climate (Iowa hasn't practiced outdoors in almost a month). Teams from the south don't normally have to adjust like cold weather teams do.
Also, FWIW, Iowa held their 11th bowl practice yesterday (Christmas).
