That timeline sure explains the mystery surrounding Saban waiting so long to sign the extension after it was presented to him along with Brown's "I'm staying. I'm really staying. I'm really, really staying. (Saban signs extension.) Okay, I'm quitting" routine from Friday to Sunday.

This is nonsensical. One of the conditions is that Mack Brown be okay with the move, and on the Saturday night he loses the Big Ten championship game, Saban's people want him to resign the job a day later.

Texas fans are the worst fans. They legitimately think year in year out that they're the standard of CFB, and can do anything if they want to. Just wait, in a year everyone will say they never wanted saban in the first place.
I hope they implode a la tennessee. both are UT's, both use burnt orange, both fired NC coaches.

It's hard to believe the terms that were supposedly offered to him but the timetable of events seems to ring true to me. I also believe Saban is very concerned about his reputation and not wanting to take another credibility hit by lying about staying.
