I find it hard to believe he couldn't find a facility in the near area to conduct some of his early term rehab. Or he could just attend an event or two and be in/out in a day or less.

A big opportunity to miss.

it's only a big opportunity to miss if you're a guy who scouts haven't seen much of or you're a guy who may not be drafted. for a guy like mett who has plenty of game film and has played for a national audience almost every game, it's not going to mean anything

Stop it, you have no clue about rehabbing a injury like that. Every day you spend getting treatment is vital. Him being able to perform at Pro days and the combine are way more critical than any Senior Bowl practices where he can't even drop back to throw.

Its more then that. Its the travel, its his doctor and therapist too.

No, not really.

Its not like he played a Wyoming Jr. College. There is plenty of film on him, and i'm sure all the NFL teams have Les Miles And Coach Cam's phone number.

you talk about it like he's getting a haircut and just needs to find a local barber.

he can't play. why go? do you think that all the pro-scouts there would be clamoring to have a 5 minute conversation with him rather than with the guys who did play?

Or he might not want his opportunity to make an impression be with him completely immobile and unable to even walk normally.

I'm 100% sure this decision was made with everything in mind. It's ridiculous to think that he just doesn't recognize the opportunity.

No, it isn't. You are over thinking this, a lot.

Senior Bowl practices are definitely a good showcase, but usually moreso for guys from small schools who are playing with guys from the SEC/B1G/ACC etc for the first time. There will be scouts from every NFL team at LSU's pro day, so he will get all the interviews he needs. He can also interview at the combine.

I guess he could do interviews and chitchat with scouts but he couldn't do anything physical.
