This is something that I hope the playoffs will fix.
It can't - they've taken all the objectivity out of it - it will be a human committee. Corruption, homerism, favoritism and the media darlings will dominate the playoff seeding.
USCw should do fine, though.

Anyone who thinks more than one SEC team will be in these playoffs is out of their mind.
Will. Never. Be. Allowed. To. Happen.
Incorrect. Auburn and Bama would both be in this year. Although it will not happen every season, the SEC will regularly have two teams in the playoff.

No they will not allow this

Disagree....that 4team playoff will almost guarantee the SEC champion every year but will open the door for the board to manipulate the rest...because the SEC will already have one and they certainly don't want a replay of the 2012 BCS debacle.

I agree with this. Because of the 2012 BCS debacle, the 4 team "playoff" was put into place.
My hope is that when people see how screwed up it still is, the playoff will be expanded to at least 8, and some sort of "on the field" criteria will be used to select the teams.

A solution would be an 8 team playoff with only conference champions. That would, on certain years hurt the SEC but would be way better than what we have now with a 4 team playoff.
8 team means no need for a board.

The SECW team that, once again, rigged itself the easiest schedule among its competition but still couldn't win out, would have been rewarded based upon name alone.
imo, the playoff idea is to prevent 2 teams from the same conference to play for the NC. from a national prospective, the committee will select conference champs from 3 or 4 of the major conferences with the "socialist" pick occasionally (boise state, notre dame, small conference team dejour, etc). the SEC will not get favorite treatment as the TV market will be very influential. the nation wants representation, earned or not.

Are you really trying to say the media wouldn't gift Bama/Saban a mulligan in a FOUR team scenario after what they did in 2011 when it was just a TWO team scenario? Really?

Who do you think would be in the playoff this year?

I'm saying that would be the case. Bama would be favored against any team in the country in a playoff right now. Most analysts consider Bama to be the best team in the country. They couldn't hold Auburn out as they are the SEC champion. Both would be in.

Hate that idea. As we've seen in the BCS era, not all conferences are the same.
ACC
Big 12, only if they have a conference championship
Big 10
Pac 12
SEC
No other conference is worthy of an auto bid. An 8 team playoff would have to include at-large bids.

I agree with you as well, which is a joke considering AU just beat them.

FSU, Auburn, Bama and Michigan State (but Bama doesn't deserve to be there.) Baylor and, perhaps, even Stanford deserve to go ahead of Bama this year.
Tired of the "Bama is Bama points" - win your conference, then we'll talk. Fail to even make your conference championship game? Back of the line.

I agree with this in principle. But it could not be argued as unfair and it would reward the top two seeds with sort of a bye with matchups against the lesser conf. champs.

When you add the "SEC HQ factor" into the equation...nobody in the nation has a better resume than LSU.
If all 14 members were treated equally, LSU would surpass all and be at the top of the conference. The special treatment afforded to home state schools in regards to scheduling and officiating is the only thing keeping us down.
It's past time to move the HQ out of Gumpville!

I honestly believe there are those of you here that wouldn't be happy regardless what they did.
Bunch of crybabies. You prob live rest if your life with this victim mentality.
Everybody is out to frick LSU.
Here's a concept, don't lose to a five loss Uga team and to second string walkon filled Blackbear squad.
I think it also worth mentioning LSU is the only 2 loss BCSNC.
So...dwi.

Meh, this season LSU beat two IA teams with winning records (AU and A&M) while I believe Bama beat 4 and Auburn beat 5 including the SECCG.
What don't you and other people get when discussing this?

LSU regularly has the toughest schedule in the nation
Sure you can say, "well, they didn't do to well win the season played", but frick that. The better team on your schedule can play bad, but at least you know you scheduled what is NATIONALLY perceived to be a good team. The fact that Bama's schedule consisted of only Virginia Tech and the SEC west, means that they got scheduled, chicken shite.
They somehow get TAMU/Manziel early and take their bye after their toughest OOC opponent, then gets a cushy SEC schedule mixed with east and west bottom feeders. Take a second bye, then play LSU. We on the other hand, decide to be railroaded on scheduling and that includes byes. We play our tough OOC opponent then go to face an UGA team who won the east, then a bottom feeder west team, then play a UF team that finished 11-2 and went to a BCS bowl. Play some ho hum teams then finally take our first bye (literally the last FBS team to do so) and play Bama. After that, we take a bye then play TAMU/Manziel.
Bama's schedule was made to insure that they win the west and go to the title game again. Our schedule was made so we play 9 games straight with two 11-2 teams mixed in and a ranked OOC opponent. Then we are to play Bama and Manziel in back-to-back games.

Since you chose to reply to me with this - Bama is an equal opportunity "fricker" - as is Notre Dame, USCw and a couple of other teams who will get this preferential treatment.
I didn't say we should go - we lost 3 football games. We had a better resume in 2007 than teams we went ahead of - and I'm sorry for that. We did get the "SEC" points, but WE WERE THE frickING SEC CHAMPS THAT YEAR. There is no good reason for Bama to have been in the game on 1/9/2012 - that should have been Okie State - and if they beat us - they deserved to be the BCS champs.
You know what would have happened if FSU had lost to Duke? Duke wouldn't have gone to the big game, neither would Michigan State, Bayor OR Stanford - it would have been a rematch of the Iron Bowl and there's no good reason for it.
Again - if you go undefeated and lose in your conference championship game - we can at least look at your resume. But a 1-loss, non-division leader, non-SEC champ has no business being in the big game.
No business at all. It will be worse with a "committee" picking the 4 teams, too - much, much worse. 8 may make it better, but the human polls that always start Bama at #1 will make keeping them out in years similar to 2011 and 2013 very tough.
