Indifferent on Saban. But Mack needs to get out of Austin. People should know when their time is up. He should know he has not lived up to expectations and people want him gone.
His legacy would be somewhat preserved if he resigned today. It's just going to get messier from here.

He wants the all-time win record at UT and needs one more year. That's what this is all about. 9 more wins I believe.

I respect any man that can frick Bama out of an extra 2 million after not winning the division, not winning the conference, and shitting the bed against Auburn

There is respect and there is respect. I respect what he did but I do not respect what he is.

I don't guess anyone can blame CNS for what some would call "extortionist" tactics.
He has delivered an almost unrivaled product, and he deserves to be paid for that.
I always liked Mack Brown's personality, but thought he was mediocre as a coach. I do think this though.....
If he stays as the HC for another couple of years, the past week's events may very well re-charge his battery so to speak.
There is no reason, imo, that UT shouldn't be in the NC mix. Nicest school, biggest recruiting base, as much tradition as anyone.
They should ALWAYS be in the mix.
I think coaches get comfortable sometimes. See Bob Stoops. Mack, IMO, had lost his sense of urgency, and got a little lazy.
This may wake him up.
And to think, he's PROBABLY an injured QB away from actually beating CNS in an NC game.

Saban and his agent squeezed more money out of his employer.... Isn't that everyone's goal? Think about it, is it wrong to try to leverage more money out of your boss? I think he did a great job of getting more from Bama... Good for him.

It was a contract negotiation man. As our chancellor put it, Nick Saban is the best investment they have ever made. He deserves what he is getting paid. I have seen the transformation first hand the last 4 years.
Saban was never leaving and I firmly believe that. He was out meeting with top recruit after top recruit. All of which left with the same impression, that Saban wasn't going anywhere.
This is most likely his last contract ever and Sexton was trying to get every penny he could out of Alabama. That is his job, there is nothing shady about it.
So he was never leaving? So he successfully negotiated a contract with zero leverage after getting outcoached and embarrassed his last game vs your biggest rival. He is good.

Respect Brown less. He should bow out with some dignity at least. But at least now we get to see him get destroyed by Oregon.
Saban is Saban, he didn't do anything out of the ordinary for his standards here.

Though facts are scarce at this point, I respect Mack less and respect Saban the same.
However, my opinion on Mack might change if the full story comes out about how ridiculous of a shitshow the booster culture there is with regard to this thing. I can't hate a guy for getting his back up when the boosters are making plays for another coach while both still have a job. But, like I've maintained, for someone who incessantly maintains that he has Texas's best interests at heart, Mack seems to be mostly concentrated on the well-being of Mack Brown.
As for Saban, I'd actually argue that he was slightly underpaid as it was, and that Bama got off easy in not having to go anywhere near 8 figures as was the widely held belief on here. He probably listened to what they had to say, but I have to believe that this was all a ruse orchestrated by Jimmy Sexton that the UT boosters -- and media -- bought hook, line and sinker.
