Why I'm starting to change my opinion on Skyler White.

I use to be of the opinion that Skyler wasn't a huge bitch like she's been accused of. I thought she had a right to be pissed off, and dealt with it about as well as she could.
Not anymore.
I've begun to rewatch the series, and it's clear to me that Skyler acted more like a mother to Walt than a wife. Feeding his arse veggie bacon on his damn birthday? Come on son. And why the huge gap between children? She probably let him hit it once every couple of months. Walt was most likely a porn addict.
Which brings me to my real point of contention: her affair with Ted.
They didn't show a whole lot, but I'm pretty certain that she let Ted do stuff to her that she never let ol' Walt do. Normal style? Sure. Lady on her back? You betcha. On top of the covers? Skyler, you slut.
Walt turned into a monster because he was treated like a boy his whole life. It's all Skyler's fault.
Not anymore.

I understood skyler's behavior more as the show rolled on.

I never had a problem with Skylar. For cripes sake, her husband became a meth cook at 50. She had every right to be pissed and act the way she did.

Here's the thing, we know that one time Walt was actually an ambitious, interesting person. We don't know jack shite about Skyler pre-BB. So was Skyler always a passive agressive, controlling bitch who wore Walt down into the meek underachiever we see in the pilot? That's what I really want to know.

With the exception of Saul Goodman I didn't care for any of the regular characters on the show.
I thought Skyler couldn't have been any more accommodating to Walt than she was when his cancer was diagnosed. Of course her affair with Ted sort of mitigates everything else.
I couldn't stand Walt the entire run of the series.

fricking your boss is a real mature way to handle that situation, huh? Instead of trying to play games to get back at her husband, she should have just ended it the right way. She just didn't have the spine to go through with it. frick that bitch.

I tend to agree with you. On first watch there are reasons to cut her some slack. But watching it a second time she is a colossal bitch.

I marathon watched BB before season 5 started so I wasn't aware of the Skylar hate while I was watching. I'll say I wouldn't want to be married to Sylar, but I was still kind of shocked by how intense the hate was for her. She was never particularly likable, but I don't know that I hated her. The closest I got was when she banged the boss and made it a point to rub it in Walt's face. Sympathy definitely waned at that point.
