There were several instances in Acadiana area where the head coach at a public school didn't want the split, but the principal voted for it anyway.

This isn't going to stop with just football, though. I remember the principal for a public school in Acadia Parish going on a letter writing campaign after the girls' basketball team lost in the finals to John Curtis a couple years ago. Nevermind his school's girls team had won 2 state championships over the past 5-6 years. John Curtis got in the way of a 3rd, and he got all pissy.

I really can't wait for the full split. I want to see how all those North LA public schools deal with propping up all the South LA public schools in their league.
