I'm expecting this guy to eventually be a name Tiger fans will remember for years, but I am also expecting some struggles in his first start this up coming bowl game. Taking a team 99 yards in a hurry up is very impressive, but lets remember it was against Arkansas. While I believe he will progress with every play and then get an entire off season working on an offense more suited for him, remember this is a giant leap from a year ago when he was playing high school. I get the feeling he's set up a pretty large persona for some Tiger fans and sometimes it makes it hard to live up too. So just keep in mind the best will be yet to come.

Of all the shite the overly officious admins whack, there should be a moratorium on the Jennings threads. They're just setting the kid up to be torn down as soon as he struggles in a game (he will, by the way, at some point).

I'm damned proud of the way he came in and won the game for us, but let's give him a chance to develop without all the pressure of playing a 5th-year Heisman winning senior in his first year of starting.

Some people on here are fricking creepy.

6 Heismans is just a true freshman like Lebron James was just a rookie.

I can't tell if your expecting are hoping he struggles.

Your talking about the same Arkansas team that sacked mett 3 times and ended his season. Show some respect because everyone know we lose that game without Jennings.

I'm sorry but noone will commit suicide because we lose a meaningless bowl game with our backup freshman QB. Most fans just hope he looks good so we can build for next year you genius.

I'm not sure you should think of him as a true freshman anymore. He was an early enrollee so he's been on on the team for almost a full year at this point.

Be patient. I thought JJ was going to be a great QB for LSU after the bowl game against Georgia Tech.

I don't understand why everyone is so high on AJ. We haven't seen enough. I am very hopeful and dont get me wrong, that last drive against Arky was a good starting point. 3rd and 10 you call the Tsunami... little bit of luck there. Its not like he methodically sustained a long drive for a touchdown.

Just slow down and lets see what we got. I hope its not JJ 2.0.

Well, I will say this, when I saw JJ as a Freshman in his bowl game i was highly skeptical and my post years ago prove it, I though his arm action was terrible and long and thought his thinking was too slow...Im sure no one will argue that I thought he was terrible QB...

I even said two years ago that I thought Mett will be a great one if we got the right kind of play-action play calling...I believe i was right about him based on his comfort level in the pocket and his incredible arm and accuracy...Cam did very well in play calling with him...

I think AJ will be a Winston type player...I think he is smart, will make good decisions in the future (near future)...I love that he can avoid the rush...what seperates winston from him is obvious size and velocity on his ball, he wont be able to make the same throws as mett...(but hey how many can?) but I think he has good touch and can learn timing with WR's...you dont have to have a cannon to be a good College QB... (hence Danny Weurful fom florida years ago)

I will miss Mett alot i think he was a great QB for LSU, But I think we are in good hands with Jennings simply because of ability to avoid the pass rush..(it will also cause Saban nightmares cause its the blue print to beating his defenses, a mobile QB)....but we need to have solid play makers around him...recruiting is vital this year.

Are you implying that LSU fans have unrealistic expectations?

He's had a full season working with the team. I don't expect him to play like a veteran, but I also don't expect him to play like a true freshman in the first game of the year. And he'll have plenty of time with the first team WRs before the bowl game.

He'll be fine.

This is how I felt about Jordan Jefferson after the Chik-fil-A game against GT. We know how that turned out, but then again we will remember his name for years. Just not for the right reason.

They will take it easy on him in the bowl game and pound the rock. Let him try something few times. All I expect is a decent performance, not a Hiesman moment, those will come.
