My two cents on Miley Cyrus

Okay, here are my thoughts on Miley Cyrus' "transformation". These past couple of years, and especially recently, she's made "Hannah Montana" seem like a hundred years ago.
I still remember the days when my little sister and practically almost every girl her age idolized Hannah Montana. Miley Cyrus was a Disney star who had her own empire with all the success of Hannah Montana. My thoughts are this: The reason she has turned into a twerking, slutty, controversial Lady Gaga-clone is that she is trying to stay relevant. I think her worst fear is to be considered a washed-up Disney Channel actor/singer who people dismiss and forget about. It's one thing to grow up and mature in both style and sound, but instead of relying on her talent and doing something original, she has sold out on her values and is doing something totally unoriginal. It's like, um, we've already seen this from Lady Gaga and Nikki Minaj, what are you doing? Miley Cyrus used to be good-looking, but now looks like... something... I don't know, but not attractive, that's for sure!
Sure, people are paying attention to her, but I think she has become more a punch-line than anything else. Also, the majority of child stars having a troubled early adulthood is playing a factor here.
I'm sure a lot of people share my views, and it's not that I'm trying to bash on Miley Cyrus, it's just it's disappointing the path she's taken. She is becoming another pop culture stereotype who, instead of carving her own path and winning people over with her music, is going with the "winning formula" of being a totally corporate and unoriginal bimbo. Disappointing.

It's just aggravating when people like Miley Cyrus, who already has millions of dollars, feels like she has to resort to this kind of cheap, unoriginal crap when she can afford to do something that people can actually respect. Who knows, maybe she isn't talented enough to actually do something like that.

Wow that's really long, can you give a summary so I can not read that as well?

There truly is no such thing as bad publicity for musicians. She is acting how she wants to act and DGAF what people say and she is cashing in on the absurdity. She is a genius. She acts like an idiot in public and people talk about everything she does. I'd bet she is probably pretty normal to be around when there are no cameras. Either she's just using the cameras to get an even greater fame, or she is really batshit crazy, or both. Either way, she is one of the most successful celebrities of all time. At least she has some talent unlike those idiot Kardashians (sp?).

I agree with the OP...It is sad to see what folks do when they sell out for money and publicity.
And may God have mercy on you Spaulding.

Wrecking Ball is a decent enough song considering some of the stuff that I hear on pop radio today.
Either way, pop artists are gonna pop so why worry about it.
