Palelei. I think we get D. Williams, but I think it's 50/50 on whether his final position is RB. He's got talent but we may need him more in another place.

I'm sorry. I'm sure Fournette is the truth and all but acting like the guy is a lock for 3 and out is a bit much.

Fournette has all the makings of a 3 and done player. They compare him to Adrian Peterson and his film speaks for itself.

I say bring in Williams and Fournette, since Blue is leaving. Then redshirt Boo to make sure he is fully healthy when he does return (no need to rush). If Jeryl can get it together, he could be a great fill for that void also. The more fresh legs to rotate, the better.

I assume Boo is Paleili or whatever? He will be healthy by the time he gets to LSU. His knee injury wasn't a very serious one. If I recall correctly it didn't even need surgery they just wanted to ensure it would be at 100% strength by the time he got here. He should be good to go.

But anyways. I think we should be good at RB next year. McGee will probably start getting the majority of carries and then LF will work his way in and if Brazil is still here he will be the change of pace back. I assume Williams will be redshirted or might get a few carries here and there

at least one RB will redshirt. fournette will only be here three years.

I don't know about that.

In 2015 we will get two top RBs in Brossette and Guice.
In 2016 we will get White.
We already have Moses for 2017.

Looks like RB will be stacked for years to come.

I dont think any of the RBs LSU brings in redshirt. With as much as we run the ball you have to spread the pounding around. Here are the carries for our RBs this season.

Hill - 155 carries
Magee - 72 carries
Hilliard - 67 carries
Blue - 62 carries

ok I thought I heard "number 24" called over the PA, but I guess he said "number 4" for Blue. Makes sense.

really would love darrel williams.

as i said in the other thread. it's very do-able to have 2-3 elite backs at the same time.. arkansas and auburn both managed it to great success and so have we..

I would only worry about 2 RBs being brought in....Fournette and Palelei. Magee will definitely be back and there seems to be a dispute about Blue. LSU is set up for RBs in future classes with already a commit and will get more. When D Williams ran that 4.8 at the last LSU camp, doesn't look like RB is the position for him. That IMO is why LSU offered him as an athlete.

RB, after QB might have the highest bust rate when you are talking top tier recruits transition to the NFL

Not that they are bad college players. They are usually always viable. But 3 and done, not much.

so lets pump the brakes

Assuming Hilliard goes pro, we're going to have four good RBs next year at least (Magee, Fournette, Palelei, Williams). Then Magee graduates and we bring in Brossette and Guice. We'll have those five together for 2015 and 2016. Too hard to project after that

This. Running back isn't a worry at all.
