Do you think coaches are influencing players to hold off on committing publicly? Well, certain players?

They know how the season is going, and it wouldn't shock me if "certain" recruits are being asked to hold off to create some buzz and excitement for the program around the time of the bowl game.

They do indeed strategically try and time when many recruits openly commit. They feel like it can create momentum.

The reason is to hope to not scare off other recruits. A la speedy and quille saga.

With certain kids but I personally think their aren't as many occurences of this as is assumed.

LF-No reason to hold off. Hes doing it on his own
Dupre-he is taking his visits and waiting to see what happens. Typical JC kid that waits til the end Staff would prefer he were already committed
Noil-he's just focused on his team. No reason for the staff to hold him back
Willis-just enjoying the process. Staff wojldnt hold him back
Garrett-already gonna commit publicly sooner than he had planned
Brown-taking his visits
Jones-undecided

That's the big ones. None are being held back

The others possibly. Darrell Williams being the most likely if their were one. I honestly think he just hasn't completely decided what to do yet.

As for D'haquille, he is too flaky and the staff isn't even sure he's a take yet. They aren't going to risk Noil or Dupre for him and I agree with that stance. Ihenacho is the only kid they would gamble with at this point because they believe he is on the same level as Noil and Dupre.

Who else would be asked to hold off aside from maybe a Russell Gage or Kenny Young? Neither of them are takes right now.

I think the kids are holding off for the all star games on their own not at the staffs request

Unfortunately, I blame this on the January All Star games (Under Armour and Army All American). They have really become jokes that are less about play on the field (if you note, they hold up the game for announcements). And of course there is huge competition between the games not only for getting the players but getting more announcements.

And the obvious reason why LSU is getting hit harder this year than most is that LA HS players are making up a disproportionate number of say the top 75 players in recruiting. Normally, I don't even watch the circus but this year, it will be a make or break for LSU recruiting. I FULLY expect it to be huge make and as some have said, most likely a lot of Tiger Rag music.

Agree. The networks hold a lot of these kids hostage withthose announcements and put tons of pressure on kids to go through with them even if the kids have second thoughts. The families have to be getting compensated in some way or are just absent. No way I'd allow ESPN to pressure my child into doing something they aaren't sure about. There would be some furniture moving going on. However, the kids are as much to blame for this stuff as anyone. They agree to it and in many cases prefer to. I just don't like it but to each their own. Worse things going on than this

A couple of points. I do get a laugh every time some kid announces at the game and within a week he has reneged. Perhaps, they should replay the selected school's fight sound backwards to signify this. Here's the kids I don't respect and do respect during that time. First, the ones I don't respect...having the hats up there on the table is one thing. But the guys who play with the deal by picking up one hat and then throwing it down...have some class...just show some class to the coaches you did NOT select and give them respect for treating you and being your host on an official visit. The kids I do respect are the ones who do it without the above switcheroo nonsense and the kids who tell AA game people that they have decided they aren't ready to commit yet. BTW, who was that...Shaq Washington...who committed during the AA game and within 2 weeks had decommitted twice more and then went with his 3rd school in 2 weeks. What a guy!!

I absolutely believe so. They want to make a big show and sweep the top guys at the All Star games IMO.
