re: Look for the LSU cheerleaders to be holding these Keep It Clean signs

I agree it may backfire but its worth a shot if it brings back some good songs to get some life back into tiger stadium.
Just an example: I've seen some minor things happen at Duke basketball games. I've seen Coach K grab the mic mid game and it squashes the ignorant things from going on. I guess all I'm saying is that if we have enough people who respect LSU and enjoy the experience enough they'll listen to the warnings.
Maybe it's wishful thinking. The songs will probably get banned again

This crap reminds me of Colorado Robertson and his "Oweo Tigers" campaign. Lame

If I don't hear Neck and STTDB while I'm watching on Saturday I'm gonna punch the 85 year old grandmother that lives next door straight in her ear.
Also you swamp kitties, Johnny gonna Johnny all over Death Valley. Let's get it on!

This is SUCH an off season thread.

Good post, but look out for the "nobody is going to tell me what to say" nonsense.

The sign will only make matters worse!! One safe bet is that college students will try to do anything possible to shoot the bird at authority....that's the way it has always been and always will be!
Wow, judging from your profile and post, you appear to be deeply disturbed person. You make me want to

The best way to handle the STTDB is to play it during commercial breaks. That way it doesnt offend the cbs audience and tiger stadium still gets to do the cheer. I say anything that keeps the student body engaged in the game is a great thing. IT beats the wave.

Tiger Stadium is not a "family friendly" environment. Hasn't been for decades. Don't blame the students because you didn't prepare your family for what they may or may not hear. Do you go into a bar and complain about the level of inebriation?

Who made this bed? Maybe those 18-22 yr olds should be embarrassed that this is what the university has resorted to. Sure as hell never held up any signs during my time in the SS (01-04).
If this is when you were in the student section, quit being a hypocrite. I was there during the same time and if you were too, you surely yelled "ha-ha-ha a-hole, a-hole" and "o-o o-e-o, you suck! cock" on a regular basis, we ALL did.

What am I missing here with the cheerleader signs?

but you are dealing with a totally different level of intelligence here. Anyone who thinks adding the words suck my tiger dick to a song is funny, probably wouldn't respond well to someone telling them not to.

quote:That is what we do with Dixieland Delight when everyone screams "frick Auburn." CBS always cuts to commercial beforehand. There was one time they messed it up, came back from commercial, and the first thing heard was "frick Auburn." We didn't play the song for the rest of the season although they eventually brought it back.
Just keep the CBS mics out of there, and no one would care.

Parents can parent. They know what they're bringing their kids into, at least they should.

I was in the United Center for a Chicago Bulls basketball game and they made it clear through pre-game videos and signs that they would toss fans for foul language. That's for an NBA game in Chicago. I also witnessed a guy in my section being warned by security and he piped down (even though he was drunk). The same will eventually happen at LSU when enough non-student season ticket holders quit going to the games because they don't want their kids witnessing such stupidity.
