When I first watched S1 as a total Hodor I felt like the show made him look like he was into whores, especially in that added scene that was in S1 E7 that was so not in the books and was overly gratuitous 
. But upon S2 & S3 and reading the books I realized that he strictly used his whorehouses to get information and spy.

I never got the impression that littlefinger actually used his own whores. TBH, I thought he was gay at first
