Absolutely. As the "modern" westerns go, it is in the "must" watch category along with Unforgiven and Silverado.
I would recommend it over the underrated, but ultimately inferior Wyatt Earp (Kevin Costner, Dennis Quaid).

Agreed.
Also, The Assasination of Jessie James by the Coward Robert Ford is one of the best westerns of all time. Very slow though. Not really a shoot em up western, more on the creepy side than anything. One of the more unique westerns out there.
Also, still talking modern day, Open Range and Appaloosa are worth a watch. 3:10 to Yuma is a decent remake and the new True Grit is better than the Wayne True Grit.
The western genre is dying and it makes me sad.
