We've had one of the easier schedules in the league thus far, and it's about to take a turn for the worse.
Before the start of the long road trip in December against a bunch of playoff teams, 10 of 12 on the road, we've got 12 games against teams that we are going to have a hard time beating, at least half are playoff teams.
We needed to be 6-3 at worst right now, not 3-6.
I said right before the season started if we weren't around 9-6 after the first 15 with our schedule, and what our next 15 looking much tougher, then we would be in for a long season.
I"m done with Monty too.
We run the same stupid arse inbounds play from the sideline and baseline every time. We have no ball movement on offense and we aren't running up and down the court like Monty said we would this year.
We have got to be the worst rotating defensive team i've ever seen, something i can't fathom. I mean, did these guys never rotate on defense at any level? Do they not know the basic defensive principles to rotate on instincts. I know i could, and i haven't played organized basketball in 10 year. If you were taught well, it's an instinct that kicks in when certain things happen.
The terrible defense is what i can't take. He's supposed to be a defensive guy, and we are terrible at defense. We don't hedge picks well, we don't stop drives to the goal, and when we do, we don't rotate over. We are 3rd to last in opponents FG% and 7th to last in opponents 3pt%. That's from undisciplined defensive principles.
The talent is there. We are creating more turnovers than we make. We are getting steals and blocks. it's like we have some good defensive stats and some terrible. And when you look at them to come up with a conclusion, it's simple. We have talent, and we get away with stuff b/c of it, but we are a very undisciplined defensive team, which is why so many teams are getting to the rim with ease and taking open shots.
Bad defensive principles fall solely on the coach. It's not like we have Steve Nash and other guys that can't play defense. We should be great on defense. A long quick PG that others have said is the best defensive PG in the game, an adequate SG when he wants to be, a long quick SF that is only on the team for defense, a great PF, and a bunch of no name centers that should be getting technicals every game for killing people that come into the lane.
We lose the next 3, i say fire him.
