I love these guys bc they're tigers and I don't bash our boys. But there is no way in hell these guys will be top round draft picks this year. Our recruiting class is shaping up to be one of a kind but where are the monster Can't miss DT prospects? Why haven't we landed one in three years? They guys we pulled in last year will be good in future but we should be going all out at DT instead of 9 DBS. DBS can't correct being blown off the ball

Ego came to play last night...7 tackles and was disruptive.

Freak had two tackles and one hurry.

For whatever reason, we are redshirting/not playing the 5 DL we signed.

I think we have some very good DL prospects in this years class. GW and the kid from plaquemine to name a couple. I think GW will contribute from the start.

It's really not your call to make. Let's just support our players in whatever choice they make. They are tigers now and we should be rooting for them.

Also, we have some stud dline recruits that are redshirting this year. I know Herron had some type of injury that held him up a bit, but there are some guys that can really make a difference. I hate redshirting players.....let them play when you need them. They are going to leave anyway when they deem necessary. Just let them play.

Yep, this doesn't seem to be the year on defense that we should have all our young newcomers staring off into space on the sidelines. After the UGA game, you would've thought the coaches would have opened the flood gates to rotate in younger players.

i would hope the example of montgomery, ware, and ford would help. Those guys were not ready and now can hope to become NFL journeymen at best.

We REALLY need Neal, Herron, bower, Gilmore and the rest of these "talented" guys to come to spring ready to go. Where the f is all of this talent?

If they stay, I think we can be optimistic about next year. With them hopefully getting their shite together with another offseason, hopefully last years guys can provide some better depth. Considering we basically had none this year.

For all the hate on our linebackers, and they are mediocre as a group (not just Welter haters), but part of the problem is OL getting hats on them regularly because we don't have a Dorsey, Brockers, Logan, etc chewing up multiple OL. Or DE's that require TE help to keep out of the backfield (although offensive lineman that are excellent tacklers help minimize that nagging issue)

It appears that the big linemen are overwhelming our line, and it's really tough for a kid 2 months into college to make a difference physically against guys that are several years into their college weight program.

And what stud DT recruits are you talking about that we're redshirting? I don't any of them were ranked in the top 15 in country for DTS. They may be good in a few years but certainly not game changers next year. That's what's wrong with the rant - people start ooing and awing about a recruit who has yet to do anything yet to the point that everyone believes this perception to be reality. Then when they don't pan out, they bash the guy. Case in point, freak was being talked about as pre-season all American. What has he done bf this year?

…and when he wasn't taking plays off he was owned and pancaked by Steen. BAMA didn't feel the need to double team him at all. You give Saban that kind of physical specimen and he makes him a man. Player development not talent level is vastly different at BAMA than LSU. The raw talent is there for LSU but the fire ain't being put to it's arse like it would be at BAMA.

I spoke with Johnson's HS headcoach last week, he's gone. He's been told by NFL people that he will be a 1st round pick and is projected to move to DE in a 3-4 base.

Lets see here... Ford was an UDFA and had a stellar preseason and ended up making the Bears 53 man roster and is a good special teams player for them.

Ware was a late pick, but was the starting FB for the Seahawks. Broke his foot, on IR.

Making an NFL teams 53 man roster and being a starter for them on ST is doing pretty damn good. Even if Ford came back, I doubt he would of been drafted. Ware wouldnt of moved up that much.

If anything Montgomery would of dropped further by staying.

You leave when youve climbed as high as you can.

Thats not true Freak does eat up those blocks but the lb's sit back and allow the other lineman to scrape of that double team and pick them up instead of hitting the hole with some confidence

What joy do people get out of bashing our players. We want him to stay so we say he's terrible....won't be successful. What kind of fan is that?

What?

Ware & Ford were draft ready and can still be found on NFL rosters.
