Karl sucks in the postseason. 7 out of 8 first round exits with the Nuggets.

This is what happens when Carmelo Anthony is your best player.

No mention of going to the WCF in his first year in Seattle with that young, Sonic team? Or losing to the Bulls in the finals? Or losing to Hakeem and Shaq/Kobe led teams in the semis?

Those Sonic teams are very similar to the Pels. Young, athletic PF. Great defensive PG who can score the ball. Smooth shooting big men. They were a top 5 offensive and defensive team for most of Karl's tenure. Their core was young and got out and pushed the ball.

Karl really would be perfect here. I bet he wouldn't mind coaching this team, if not for coaching AD alone.

He got to the Finals once and the WCF another time. Credit where credit is due but 7 of 8 first round exits is the more notable stat. I just think a lot of people are jumping on the Karl bandwagon because they see a big name. Reality is this guy hasn't delivered in a while.

And, to the other guy, no I wouldn't just be happy making the playoffs. If they're going after a coach I'd rather take a chance on a somewhat unknown than hire a guy who seems to have his best days behind him.

Point is, Karl gets the most out of his teams every year. That Sonics team peaked during the wrong year, losing 4-2 in the Finals to the 72-win Bulls. Karl knows how to pull young, talented teams together on both ends of the floor.

As for Monty, his offenses look like Summer League basics. But he is supposed to be an excellent defensive coach...yet every year his teams suck at rotations. Different players, same problems while only the head coach is static. Survey says...
