Once you go tube, I find it's impossible to go back to solid state. I have an SVT, and hate the weight of it, but the tone is the best of the best.

I played a Carvin and enjoyed it. Not my favorite but not terrible either.

Favorite amp I've ever played/owned:

Marshall Silver Jubilee

Thing is nasty.

Well, in my defense...my power amp is solid state (Rocktron). My ADA MP-2 Digital preamp has 12AX7A tubes. I does have some pretty great tones. I have an Alesis Quadraverb 2 for effects (which is pretty ok).

I thought about just getting a rack mount tube power amp like a Carvin, Boogie, or Marshall...but I think the Mark V will serve me for the next twenty years.
