I don't even remember when this movie came out.
Was it a wide release?
I don't remember any ads.

I didn't see it until a friend forced me to.

It's not a remake per se. It's similar to the original in that they both have "Bad Lieutenant" in the title and the main character is a drug-addled cop. The original is about Christian redemption and this one is just Herzog being Herzog.
