Lets just say I know Dorignacs paid $245 for the 23 year Pappy and received their alotment last Friday. They got 4 cases of 15 year, 5 cases 20year, and 4 cases 23 year.

Last year, they were selling the 20 year for around $500, and the 23 year for $750. I was livid...I emailed Pappy Van Winkle and received a reply from Preston Van Winkle, and he said they were fully aware of the situation, but there were laws preventing them from doing much, but could reduce the alotment Dorignacs gets from Republic. Preston even mentioned what the retail price should be, and I took that email with me asking why so expensive....manager at Dorignacs, basically said f off, and walked away....Sorry, it's great bourbon, but not that great. $750?

No offense, but that mark up (basically 300%) is not that different from a normal markup on wine and spirits in a store. Now of course, the more expensive the wine or booze, the less the markup (at least in say a restaurant setting). But most wine stores are marking up wines 2X at least. 3X for a highly sought after bourbon doesn't seem absurd enough to become a narc over.

so they received (12) bottles of 15, (15) bottles of 20 and (12) bottles of 23? That seems really , really hard to believe. Most states dont get that kind of allotment.
