They cut a lot of the strategy aspects from the battle school but overall I thought they did an amazing job visually. That's not at all what I had imagined with the computer game but I thought it worked within this context.

***SPOILER***

It's been a bit since I read the book, but did they ever go into a reason why they practiced the way they practiced with parts of your body being frozen and whatnot? I always assumed it would somehow tie into the way the bugs faught but they never really did.

Was the fact that Ender though to shoot feet first just them training to think outside the box or was there some inherent advantage to fighting this way against the actual bugs?

Haven't read the book, but having parts of your team's bodies paralyzed seems to parallel the sacrifice of part of the fleet in order to achieve the larger goal of getting to the other team's gate/the alien home world.

Watching the movie today. Never read the book but the kid who is on the front cover here was my friend growing up. Was neighbors with the author so they would draw him while jumping on a trampoline. Author came and spoke with us. Pretty cool when you are in 3rd/4th grade
