Palelei's ACL Surgery Today

Didn't play and had to be stopped from trying to. I didn't want to reveal that he's been running stadium steps and lifting, but with all the Doom and Gloomers here, felt like this might ease concerns about the severity of the ACL injury. The Doctor said he could actually play again and have the surgery for the slight tear after the season, but Surgery is still scheduled for the 5th and he will not risk it.
It's killing him to not be playing, especially after seeing his team lose for the first time tonight, 7-6 and knowing that he would have made a big difference.

He's very fortunate that he is able to do what he can right now, but he will put more stress on other parts of his knee and damage it further. It's the right decision for a guy so young to get it done soon. Especially such a stubborn guy.....haha. The kid has some heart. It sounds like his rehab may be swift.

How about Dutchtown though? What is that? 9 years straight against EA?

Never rooted against him. Never will, would have been much happier with an EA win. I know he takes it to heart, just like I did.

EA probably has as many playoff wins in that time period.
Not a Dutchtown fan but what? Dutchtown 8 playoff victories in the past 9 years. East Ascension 2 and those were in 4A.

Ditch town will do their customary first round swoon.
Dutchtown's been out of the first round 5 of the last 9 years. East Ascension only twice in 2004 & 2005.

Don't confuse me with facts, I was pissed and said "probably."
DTHS is notorious for failing early in the Playoffs, regardless. Nobody does less with more than the ole hunchback.

He shouldn't play the rest of the year. Why should he risk it? There is no reason to take a chance. I believe we get LF but right now he is our only running back commit in the last 2 years.

He's not going to play, even if they go somewhere in the Playoffs. Surgery November 5th and common sense won't allow that to happen.

Wow that is impressive. Didn't he have ACL and MCL?

It actually depends on the individual- further damage is not a foregone conclusion. Some people can play without an ACL, or with a partial tear. If his menisci are intact, particularly the medial meniscus, he may have plenty of functional stability. That said, you have to have a good understanding of the player's exam to go the route of no surgery.
No doubt the heart is there, which is always a plus in terms of rehab.

I'm well aware, unfortunately. I tore both meniscus and acl and a strained mcl. Pretty similar to the Case Keenum injury, which blows because the meniscus needs time to heal so you can't rehab the ACL in the manner you need to until after about 6 weeks.

Surgery scheduled for 1pm today. Btw, the ACL was NOT partially torn as originally thought. It's stretched and will be repaired today.
Praying everything goes as planned!
