You shouldn't need your QB to have best-in-the-history-of-the-program stats every game to beat the likes of Ole Miss's reserves.
Not to mention that Ole Miss's two major miscues were both worse than any of the INTs Mett threw. You can't talk about the INTs without talking about the field goal into the line from the 20 and the fumbled punt inside their own 20.
I think we're probably overreacting to this loss, but the INTs are not an excuse. Sure, we would probably have won if Mett had a better game, but your QB is going to have off nights.
