I'm actually ashamed my original attack on the film didn't include the fact Paltrow could use the iron arm blaster WITHOUT POWER! 
Damn! I proved the writers correct in that the audience would be too stupid to notice a thing like POWERING the weapon.
Note to self, step up your game in regards to nitpicking movies......

I assumed that Tony had made the arc reactor irrelevant, since the suit could disassemble and fly in pieces to wherever he was.
That doesn't make it right, though....
