late 90's-early 2000's pop songs

it's all embarrassing but we love it anyway

speaking of that... what genre would a lot of these song fall into if they came out now? A bunch of these are closer to rock. And it seems to me like "pop" as we knew it is pretty much gone. I guess artists like Rihanna (sp?), Gaga, Miley Cyrus, and Justin Timberlake are pop?

The Beiber certainly has to be pop.

Incidentally he really is American. No chance he is from up north.

That's what was great about the 90's and early 00's radio, they still played one hit wonder rock music

I mean does that even exist anymore?

It's all this packaged electro/hip-hop/Miley Cyrus shite that all sounds exactly the same now. I mean that was around then too (Britney Spears and that whole scene) but it seemed like some real music still made it onto the FM airwaves back then

There is zero of that sort of thing going on anymore. You're either all that Katy Perry/ Lady Gaga/ whatever shite, or you're on the college station like 91.1. There is no crossover anymore.

I blame illegal downloading honestly. That and this younger generation being even fricking stupider than we were.
