I think they should have an immediate tally on how many tickets have been scanned. After 5 min into the first quarter, they will let 3/4 of the open capacity left in the gate for 30 per person.
If someone comes in late and has ticket proof that someone else has taken their seat, that person just finds another one.
Like where this idea is going. Make it $20 per person and a guy could take his 2 kids to a game for $60 and fill some seats. The University would actually get paid twice on those seats so makes financial sense.

And then the guy who was held up in traffic and just found a parking spot and finally made it to Tiger Stadium finds his seats have been sold.
Yeah, sounds like a great idea.
This whole idea of fan policing is absurd. The tickets are sold to someone, and after that, the athletic department pockets the money and goes on its business. You think it cares about concession sales? That's the vendor's problem - they already paid the athletic department for the right to sell the food, perhaps there's something in the contract that if a certain level of sales is not met, the athletic department pays the difference so they break even, but even then, the money's made.

Problem with that is that guy could have easily bought Florida tickets for that much BEFORE the game starts. Or if it's an OOC opponent that sucks, like Furman or UAB, he can stand around and literally pick tickets up off the ground for free. It's not like there's a scarcity of tickets to be found.
