But without watching a replay, I can almost assure you of this - Had we intercepted that very last pass and won, some guys on some Patriots message board would be posting pics and gifs on big plays where we got away with holding and/or some other penalty.
I'm pretty level headed about penalties and no calls and such. I think I've proven that today in multiple threads by only saying there were two blatant bad calls instead of the laundry lists other posters have.
The Pats have NOTHING compared to what we have to complain about from yesterday. The closest thing they have is the push off, but IMO that was a push off.

Even though you pissed me off with an intended insult recently
I tend to hold back any insults until they're thrown at me, like in this very thread for example lol.
I'll apologize in advance, and take the blame for this one as a symbol for this current thread. My bad.

But my point is, when we win because we benefit from 2 completely blown calls, you don't hear about it on here. And if someone brings it up, yet another Saints fan will try to point out the 22 bad calls that went against us.
If you read any message board of any team, it's the same thing, their team is always the one that gets screwed in a loss.
If this board was flooded with as many "we're so fortunate to get those calls we did in that win we had", then I wouldn't complain nearly as much.

The guy was still offsides when the o-lineman moved. You don't have to make contact. You should probably do some research about the sport of football before getting into debates about it with people who aren't as dumb as you.
Yeah, I wrote that wrong...sorry! The D can jump around and move, but not jump into the neutral zone, startling the O line into moving. A judgement call for the refs. Is that the play where the Saints players initially clapped, thinking the penalty was on the D. If so, it was very questionable call then...as i said, a judgement call by refs right in front of it. I have kids who played/play college football.I know the rules.

If you want my honest opinion, it's what losers do, and that's in all aspects of life. Don't like an outcome, it's ok, just don't accept responsibility, we'll blame someone else. Get outta here with that.
I was just sugarcoating it the first go round.
WAH, IT'S ALWAYS SOMEONE ELSE'S FAULT. WOE IS ME!!!
It's about the least manliest thing a sports fan can do.
Ok big man, you want to throw out the taking resonsibility angle? How about the referees taking responsibility for the mistakes in the game? If what your saying is right we should expect some apologies from the refs and the league. For atleast the obvious blown calls. The phantom false start, the bounced pass that was ruled a catch and the tackle/hold on the OL on the last play, refusing to give brees a TO.

I just think LSUandAU, and you as well, are kinda trumping the "blame the officials for the loss" mantra. There are very few people that are saying the officials are THE reason we lost yesterday. That doesn't mean that we can't complain about two very terrible calls that had a direct impact on the game. Not all bad calls lead to points, so in the grand scheme of things they are no big deal. But the non time out put the winning points on the board. Again, not the reason we lost, but it's very infuriating that something so basic as calling a time out got fricked up to the point of costing us points.

Oh god, don't apologize...it was about JaMarcus's real estate in California! I, once again, had crossed my signals...unsure whether he had allowed it into foreclosure...CA is a walkaway State...or sold it at a $500K loss, which would be bad advice! There were conflicting statements in the thread. It would be a great story if he comes back successfully!

Yep. Also, you were debating this without even being sure what play we were talking about?

You're not even sure what play it is and you're trying to talk shite. GTFO. It shouldn't have been a judgement call. There was at least one, if not two NE players in the neutral zone when our guy jumped. That should be a definitely penalty against the defense. It's only a judgement call if you're blind. And you'll forgive me for assuming the refs can see.

How about the referees taking responsibility for the mistakes in the game?
quote:If that makes you feel better, you can sit and wait around for the apologies. I'm sure the Saints organization meets and discusses calls with officials weekly. If they tell the team they botched a call, that should suffice. There's no need to tell us, much less apologize to us.

You seem to argue that blown calls by the refs "all even out in the end." That there are bad calls/non-calls against both teams.
In a closely contested game, like the one yesterday, that's not the case. Some blown calls are much worse than others, and can affect the outcome.

They aren't, which is what some people were trying to explain to you. It's possible to point out the refs mistakes while also acknowledging the Saints screwed up.

Just trying to be cordial...it is the play the Saints were clapping about...judgement call...maybe a bad call. If I recall, the replay didn't really give definitive proof either way...judgement call!
Posted on 10/14/13 at 3:12 pm to LSUandAU
It was definitive if you were paying attention and knew the rules.

Just out of curiosity, can you give an example where we won a game due to some incredibly blatant calls/no calls? I can't think of any off the top of my head.
I have to echo what others are saying about the difference between a ticky tack no call, and the blatant hosing we got twice yesterday.

I personally don't care to spend any time worrying about officiating, though oddly I'll admit I have spent a lot of time today worrying about others worrying about officiating apparently.
The Saints can't control that, we don't have a clue how next game will be officiated, so I prefer to talk about stuff the team can dictate.

Right, the replay only showed the defensive lineman clearly being offsides when the offensive lineman moved. No proof there.
