a 35,000-word novella by George R. R. Martin about the Dance of the Dragons, the vast civil war that tore Westeros apart nearly two centuries before the events of A Game of Thrones.
My body is SO ready.

Word is late next year, HBO is pushing on. There was an interview this week in the Santa Fe paper where he mentioned he needed to "lay the tracks".
He opened an old theatre (Cocteau) in Santa Fe.

Wonderful.
I'm sure it will mention The Others a little bit and then say nothing the frick else about them.

This has been in the works for awhile and most assumed it would be the next chapter in the Dunk and Egg novellas.
At this point I've given up on thinking we'll ever see the literary end of the series.

The way amazon words it, this is mostly done by a bunch of other authors, with GRRM editing it together.

This guy is 65 and obese. He'll be long dead before finishing the series.

the way the description reads, there are multiple stories included in this volume, and one of the stories is the 35,000-word novella by GRRM.

Yep. I wouldn't be surprised if the TV series finishes the series before the books do.

I would be shocked if GRRM lived to see the television series end, no way in hell he finishes even book 6

I think he'll live to finish book 6. Now book 7, I'm very skeptical about.

I just started reading the books a year ago and I already want to kill this guy. I can't imagine reading them as they came out.
