I've heard positive comments from several ESPN shows and podcasts and on College Sports on Sirius. Anecdotally, I have had positive reactions to LSU's performance from the A&M and Arkansas fans and even the Bama fan I work with.

People thought it was a great game between two top ten teams. Everyone believes we still have a legit shot to run the table and make it to Atlanta. Except our own fan base.

I'm not trying to blow any sunshine up anyone's arse. The defense looked terrible and we're going to have a lot of shootouts this year. But from the reactions of our own fans you would think LSU should just forfeit the rest of the season.

I guess the catastrophe syndrome is true.

I was sick watching that defense out there. That isn't an LSU defense.

We have a lot of miserable pussies in our fan base. The same douches that hated Mett last year and said how bad he sucked and that our offense would never change are the same dildos saying Mett should win the Heisman this year.

It was an objectively great game. LSU has nothing to be ashamed of. We won't always have a top defense. Deal with it.

Completly agree
The UGA loss and Clemson loss was like winning the NCG for them. Its flattering that everyone wants to beat LSU that bad and our fan base expects us to win every game. Granted defense was up to the usual par but you can't win them all. I would MUCH rather a September slip up to UGA than losing to Bama in November in any way, shape or form.

Which is why most of the people on the rant are so easy to ignore. LSU and Mett will get alot of love for that loss and as UGA continues to win on (they're schedule is about to get REALLY easy), it only adds to LSU's resume.

The defense will get better because it's not just a talent issue.

If this team rolls into T-Town with UGA as the only loss (and they will be favored in their next four), they'll be back in or near the top 5 with a chance to play themselves back into contention.

Same here in Austin but not being in La.I heard it on national sport-talk carried all over the country.Call me a purple/gold sunshine pusher, but as a LSU fan I'm about our glass half full not half empty.
I started following our Tiger in 1957 at the age of 7.When in Death Valley if by the end of the 1st QT.I can hardly talk from screaming I am just "doing my job."

Yeah @ 63 I'm an old fart.I have to laugh at this age of twitter, critter, crackberry, and how tech has given ALL a voice and platform to speak as know-it-alls.I don't profess to be a coach or informed expert on college football.
LSU put 11 out of 11 players(mostly defensive)on NFL teams last year.
Personally I would not trade John Chavis,The Chief for any other DC in college football.IMO what the guys playing D on our team need is some time and experience to mesh into a defence that makes few mistakes and plays to their true talent level. We are fortunate this year we finally have an offence that can stay on the field and score. Our OC Cam and Mett and whole offensive team buys us that time.
IMO Georgia was the best offensive team we will meet all season.Bama is very beatable I don't care if we play them on the moon.aTm and Johnny Football we beat them last year in their own house...Welcome to Death Valley Johnny! Florida, lost their starting QB and best Dlineman.Mush-mouth could not score TDs if you gave him Paton Manning...Oh and we get the Gators in Baton Rouge.Ole Piss just got exposed last w/end.So what if we are playing in that little band-box in Oxford.

Ok I've run on long enough...take your shots negators I'm too old and I don't give a rip!

Offense is sexy, this just further proves it.

Neutral observers see a back and forth high scoring game that any team could've won.

We see a porous defense unseen at LSU in years and the possibility of having to outscore opponents for the rest of the season, which is an uncomfortable feeling for LSU fans.

The media likes offense, and we'll get much more positive press this year because of it, even though our team is in a similar position as in years past.

I actually feel we're better than expected. Excited to see if we can catch a couple lucky breaks and make a run.

Lsu is good, real good. But that defense against Georgia was bad. If they play like that at T-town, Bama will win by 2 TD's

Nah. My guess is that we have been so offense-starved for so long, it's hard for the Tiger Nation to imagine being a big Offense winner without a big defense.

Don't get me wrong, I think both are needed over the long run, but some teams (like Oregon) seem to do pretty good on just offense and scoring.

Wondering if LSU can and will break its own mold, at least for this one season.

It really is amazing how your whole perspective can change when you get outside of your own little bubble.

As someone who has lived over 1,000 miles away from Louisiana for almost a decade, it's remarkable how different my take on LSU or the Saints usually is than my friends or family that still live at home.

When the your biggest trek outside of Louisiana is a weekend road trip to Gainseville or Knoxville for an away game, it probably means you may be too close to see the forest for the trees.

I mean, it's pretty comical that mouth breathers like Glenn Guilbeau and Bobby Hebert set the narrative that our local fans are constantly exposes to.
