I'm nearly certain that that story was made up. Nobody would claim that UGA should've won anything in 2003, other than what we actually did win.
Sounds to me like hyperbole that is typical on road trips. "We stopped to let little suzie tinkle at the gas station and a group of rabid dawg fans barked in our faces and shat on our windshield!!"
