Locally owned. The owner/chef combo originally started Koi. Very nice folks. Even better food.

I suspect they offer sushi to hedge bets and appeal to the BR masses. Never had it, can't vouch for it. Chinese is where it's at though. Sichuan cuisine vs the standard fast-food prepackaged crap. I officially can't eat any other Chinese in the city. It ruined me with its superiority.

Yeah, it's odd their store front is described as Japanese Restaurant / Sushi, but everyone here raves about the Chinese menu.

Color me intrigued.
