With his track record of sending players to the draft during his tenure at Alabama, there seems little doubt about Nick Saban’s ability to produce and prepare players for the NFL. But the trade of [Trent] Richardson certainly boils up some doubts about Crimson Tide running backs of recent vintage. In the past three seasons, Alabama has had two first-rounders (Richardson and former Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram) and a second-round pick (Eddie Lacy). There are legitimate questions about New Orleans’ choice of Ingram, who has only 10 starts in two-plus seasons and has averaged just 3.8 yards, in 2011. Lacy hasn’t gotten off to the fastest start in Green Bay and is dealing with a concussion. And now Richardson has been traded despite having been the third overall pick in 2012… [Glen] Coffee retired after one season in San Francisco….
“One thing we’ve got to remember is that (Saban) always has great offensive lines, and that helps his backs,” said one area scout. “And, truth be told, with the way Nick uses his backs, he probably rubs some tread off the tires. But, hey, no excuses, we’ve got to do a better job of (evaluating) these guys.”

If Jeremy Hill can stay out of trouble and does not have a major injury, he will have a better pro career than any of the fore mentioned bama rb's.

Why doesnt anyone want to say the obvious.
$abun is a slave driver. He forces these guys to perform or be culled/cut. When they get to NFL and no one is there to force them to perform (BECAUSE YOU CANT DO THAT IN THE NFL).....they underperform or fail.
Thats why $abun himself cant cut it in the pros. You cant force a pro player like you can a college kid.

Saban overuses his running backs. They are worn out by the time they get to the NFL.
Eddie Lacy may be an exception.

I didn't realize that Saban or Miles were hired to produce NFL players. Saban could no more make Ingram into and NFL starter than Miles could make JR an NFL starter. They can prepare them but its up tot he player.

We don't have much room to talk.
Ridley is talented, but is fumble happy.
Ford is a Bear and Ware is a Seahawk with little to no playing time. Ware is currently hurt and barely plays at all.
The NFL is no joke. All of these Bama and LSU players were really good college players and deserved a shot at the next level, but not everyone can prove themselves as a RB because of the demands. It's physical.
Why do you think Bama and LSU churn out so much talent in the NFL? They pracitce and play physical and it's demanded of them.
