His style gave Ali fits. Ali was in magnificent shape for their second fight -- possibly the best shape he ever got in post-ban, with the possible exception of the Foreman fight -- and he still needed to rally in the 12th just to secure a split decision.

Still remember the Norton / Holmes fight back when fights still went 15 rounds. Both fighters were carried out on stretchers after the fight. I think Holmes won by Split Decision.
