This will be my 2nd game in Tiger Stadium. I will be coming down with a friend and will arrive on Thursday or Friday. I went to the Arkansas game in 2011. I had a blast! I ended up staying at the Belle of Baton Rouge, and it was nice, but after the game, it was crazy getting back to the hotel. My question is what would be the best hotels (preferably walking distance) to look at. Thanks and Geaux Tigers!

Ok cool. How are the taxi situations?

Non existent unless maybe you set something up ahead of time. Even then, I don't think a single cabbie in the city would want to deal with that bullshite. La Berge may run a shuttle. I don't know.

Awesome! Thanks guys! My friend has never been to a game so I told him that he needs to experience it at least once. I should also mention that I'm coming down from Ohio. We live across from Marshall University and their tailgates are nothing compared to LSU or SEC football! I know it's only Furman, but I'm hoping the experience will be as good as the last game I attended.

You could also stay at the cook hotel on campus. Its really nice and decked out with LSU stuff. Its walking distance from the stadium and chimes! Better look to book it now though. Fills up quick for game days

You're gonna be dissapointed.

I know it isn't a big time game, but it has to be better than me going to Marshall C-USA game haha.

Staybridge Suites is within walking distance. Book now and expect high prices for game weekend. It is south of Tiger Stadium on Nicholson Drive past Walk-Ons Bar.

honestly, it is gonna cost you a little more, but I would just go ahead and rent a car...traffic is a clusterfrick, but mass transit is not Louisiana's strong point...
also, if you don't have a hotel booked, you are way behind the game...better take what you can get at this point and having a car makes that a lot easier...
ETA: hit me on this board as the game gets closer if you guys want to tailgate some...you are welcome to stop by mine...

I would look into staying downtown, either at the Hilton or the new Hampton Inn, and then taking the Touchdown Express shuttle to the game. It costs $10, and helps you to beat traffic afterwards. That's a lot cheaper than a cab or a rental car.

Not trying to be Debbie Downer, but the 2011 Arkansas game was the last regular season game of the year, #1 vs #3. Your coming down this year for a late season rent a win agains a FCS school. The only shot at a decent crowd is if LSU still has something to play for. If LSU is 7-2 at that point, it will be a boring day.

Thank you. I appreciate that. Like I said, I'm not really worried about how big of a game it is. It's just that I live in Ohio, and don't get to see live games like everyone else. If Furman is the game I can go to, at least I will see them get a win
