Mike Smith said he has cut practice short all week because they are all still beat up from the saints game. Smith said numerous players haven't practiced at all. Said it was the most physical regular season game he can remember...
after the segment the radio hosts joked that the falcons/rams game got moved up to 12:45 est. time begging their fair weather fans to be in their seats before the end of Q1.
So much fail. Geaux rams!

There are a lot of fair weather fans in the dome. The Superdome has not always been sold out with a waiting list. shite...games were regularly blacked out during the Brooks/Haslett era.

False. The last Saints game I can remember that was blacked out was the first two games of Haslett first season. The team started winning near the end of that season and I don't think we've had a blackout since. That was almost 12 years ago. Even during the down years of Haslett era the saints games were still televised. Ditka years are a different story.

Atlanta is a city of 6+ million people, you'd think you could find enough locals to consistently sell out the 65 thousand seat Georgia Dome.
Especially after just missing the Super Bowl...

The 2004 season opener against Seattle was blacked out if I recall correctly.

That was a long time ago boss.

I count myself as a solid Saints fan and I blacked out last weekend the night before the game.

Totally false. There was a blackout in 2004 and a few early in 2000 and a few in between. The dome hasn't been regularly empty since the Ditka years and the last Mora year.

Bro, you are talking about a team that was 13-3 last year and has won the division twice in the last 3 years and was the 1 seed those two years.
Even if you want to say there were fair weather until the 2006 season, they sprinkled in a 7-9 and 8-8 under SP during those times and still had a waiting list.
Its not even close to the same thing.

I hate the Falcons as much as anyone but this is a little blind hatred in this thread
I've been here since 2004 and every game they've played has been on TV here. Whether or not the fans actually show up is another issue....

Where did anyone claim that the Falcons didn't have sellouts?

Besides that direct quote, the insinuation was there that they don't sell out games

i think 2004 is the only season that had blackouts
Also, the Atlanta metro area has more people than the state of Louisiana...

No. Game is at 1pm Est. The radio hosts were joking that they moved the game up 15 min, hoping fans would be in their seats by Kickoff at 1.
It's the same with Braves games here. Empty seats until the 3rd inning and they leave in the 8th

OH, I gotcha. I thought you were saying to move the game up to 1:45 to trick them so by kickoff they would actually be there
I rarely make a Braves game on time. I remember I was on the way to Turner one game listening on the radio and McCann hit a first inning 3 run homerun.
