Are we still in the dark here?
Posted on 9/10/13 at 10:01 am to Chad504boy
We'll be in the dark until Wed when we find out they "have a leg"...or whatever.
Then when the release whether they are "doubtful". etc.
Payton won't be much more forthcoming than that.

Did bunkley tweet any "not so soon" pictures?

Dude, was this thread necessary? You know the fricking protocol. Cmon man.

From wwl-tv sports twitter: (19 hrs ago)
They appear to be looking at Bunkley's right calf area.
Tyrunn Walker was on crutches today. No sign of Patrick Robinson or Brodrick Bunkley. And Payton won't discuss.
Holder:
Brodrick Bunkley was in a walking boot and crutches. Patrick Robinson also wore a walking boot after the game.

IIRC, this was posted after the game.

Bunkley's injury was the one that scared me.
It was a "nothing" play where the OL guy was pushing Bunkley back standing up and while Bunkley was back-tracking, you could see him start to favor that leg.
You can still see his feet when the camera angle changes and he was walking gingerly. The next camera angle shows him on his knees on the ground waiting for trainers.
I immediately started thinking Achilles. But I doubt that now.

Yeah I've been pretty worried, both looked good.

Yeah, I thought it was an achilles when it happened. We'll find out. Hopefully just a grade 1 or 2 strained gastro. If it is a full tear, he is probably done for the year.
The good news is Jenkins looked like he held his own for the most part yesterday in Bunkleys absence but it would be nice to have him more as depth.

That's what I thought. Achilles injury or calf. He didn't twist his ankle. Looked like he may have hyper extended which leads me to believe Achilles or calf. I wouldn't think you'd have a boot on for a calf injury.

It's not an Achilles tear, he walked off the field. Could possibly be a strain. When an Achilles tears it rolls up behind your knee. Walking is not an option.
When he got to the sidelines they turned him on his stomach and began to look at his leg between his calf and knee for the most part then walked him to the locker room.

I could live with that.

can one tear a calf muscle?
Posted on 9/10/13 at 11:44 am to Chad504boy
Of course. Any tendon can be torn.

If this means anything, he was walking on his own power and from what I saw they weren't looking at his knee or ankle. But a calf tear or a lower leg fracture would be a possibility. Hopefully not. He was able to put all of his weight on it. Pretty sure he has a leg...
