I'm against a salary because then you could open it up to revenue draining sports like Men's Swimming and Women's anything.

Rather make it more of a free market meritocracy. Players can be paid by outside sources for appearances, using their likeliness, autographs, whatever.

I think you can pay the players a salary, but make it be managed by someone else, so they can't go blow it all the first month of the semester. Maybe give them ___ a month to spend on whatever

oh wait, THAT'S WHAT THEY ALREADY DO. I know as a scholarship guy at OSU (non-revenue sport), my friend was given like $1000 a month in 2003 (I'd assume it's more today). I don't know if that is enough, so you could maybe just make that number like 1250 or 1500

No but they shouldn't have to wait 3 years to get paid because of a nonsensical NFL rule either
